We were lucky to get a shoot in before the lockdown in the Sunshine Coast area. The Captain thanked all the members for helping get shooting started early and finishing early enough for everyone to get home safely before 4pm.
It was a beautiful winters day, with gently North westerly winds, which made it a bit easier than the fishtailing westerlies of the past couple of weeks. Though saying that the possibles were still few and far between. One possible in the first range came from Corrie, who turned up with his brand new rifle rest, a little late (due to the early start) and hurried himself to a 60.8. (I’m guessing the $$ for the new stand were worth it :-)).
The second stage saw two possibles, one from Peter B with a 66.6 (its been a long time between drinks) and Denis McN with a 66.4.
Div 1 (TRA) was won by Dave H, with a 102.8, with Gary and his trusty .223 on 102.6 close behind. Michelle looks like she might be into the swing of things after her broken wrist and piped Scott on countback with a 101.9.
Div 2(TRB) was won by David R, with an impressive 101.8, with Shane J on 99.5. Tracey McD was happy with her second stage of 46.1 to finish with a 82.1.
Div 3 (FStd) was won by Corrie H, with a 60.8 in the first stage and a 65.7 in the second to finish with a nice 125.15 for the day (with his new rest). Peter B made a come back from his latest performances with a possible in the second stage of 66.6, to finish with 124.9 in second place and Des V in thrid with 121.11.
Div 4 (FO) was won by Andrew B with a 123.7, closley followed by Denis McN with a 123.4, Peter C shot a nice 65.06 in the second stage to finish with 121.10 in 3rd place. We hope to see Dave B back soon, to give this group a little bit more competition.
Div 5(FTR) was wone by Sarah C who finished with an impressive 65.8 for a total of 120.11 for the day, with Rob G also finishing with a 65.8, but 1 point behind Sarah on 119.11. Brian L finished third with a 115.3 for the day. A BIG shout out goes for Fred B who shot a PB in the second stage with a 61.1, I don’t think we will get the smile off his face for a few weeks.
Next week is 600 yards practice and the following week 14 August is 700 yards practice due to the QRA Queens (??).
