Well our first competition for the year started with a bit of a bang, with 5 possibles in the first stage. Who kept their cool and finished with a double?

It was a hot and humid day, and just to make things feel even more uncomfortable the weather threw in a shower of rain, enough to stop shooting for about 5 minutes. We had 28 competitive shooters and 2 others that came and practiced, not a bad roll up for the first competition shoot for the year.

Div 4 (FO)

Top score and only double possible for the day went to Denis M in Div 4 (FO) with a 126.9 after starting with a 60.2, he found the X on the second stage with a 60.7. It was a close fight just behind him, with Andrew B starting with a 60.8, finishing in second place with a 125.15, Peter C finished strong with a 66.9, to take out third place with 125.14, and Dave B just missed the placings finishing on 125.11.

Div 3(FStd)

Div 3 (FStd) was also very tight for the top 3 shooters, with none of them starting with a possible, they all pulled it together in the second stage, with only X’s seperating the top 2. Des V just pipped Grant L finishing with 125.15 over Grant’s 125.13. Corrie finished in 3rd with 124.08.

Div 5 (FTR)

Div 5 (FTR) had 8 shooters for the afternoon, Rob G and Sarah C both started with possibles, Rob 60.8 and Sarah 60.6. Rob G finished the day with a 65.08 taking out first place with 125.16, with Greg H shooting a 66.7, the only possible in the second stage in FTR to finish 2nd place and Mark C taking out 3rd with a 122.2.

Div 6 (SH)

Div 6 (SH) is seeing a core group of shooters, improving all the time, we had seven shooters this week. Mark R was wrapped to get a 50.5 in the first stage, the only possible in the first stage for SH, but didn’t quite hold it together for the second stage, he was beaten by Ross S who shot a 55.6 in the second stage to beat Mark on a count back and third place to Rob G with 103.9.

Div 1 (TR)

We only had 2 TR shooters this week, David R just beating Dave H, David finished with 100.8 and Dave 100.5.
